Embolden Adventures Kilimanjaro – Follow Along in the Adventure to the Top
🗻 So what business does this New York City gal have climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa? I don’t know either, but I am preparing to give it a shot next year in 2017.
Join me in my Embolden Adventures Kilimanjaro journey over this year period as I ready myself to summit this mountain along with my friends from around the world. 🗻
🗻 I am aiming to become physically fit enough to endure this 7-day hike to over 19,000 feet. BUT despite being as prepared as possible for this journey, none of us will know for certain until we are actually walking this trail whether we could fall ill to altitude sickness.
Let’s see if I can actually go through with this strenuous adventure on my own two feet up to beyond the tops of the clouds. Click here to read more.
🗻 From long walks through New York City to a broken toe and more, see how I am preparing for this adventure of a lifetime.

🗻 If done right, Mount Kilimanjaro can be conquered. So I plan to be as prepared as possible from New York City. During one of my training hikes, my US Army Ranger friend taught me a thing or two about going the distance. Click here to find out what I learned.
Just like training for a marathon, training for Kilimanjaro requires mental and physical commitment to be able to make it to the top. If you can walk a marathon, it is possible to run one too.
Join me in my journey this year as I ready myself to summit this mountain along with my friends from around the world.
I sat down with an old high school friend and former US Marine, Kim. She spent some time talking to me on this Kilimanjaro podcast about all things Kilimanjaro. Kim successfully completed the climb in 2010 and had a lot to say about her experience. In this episode, hear about:
- What it takes to summit this epic mountain
- What it was like spending eight years in the US Marines
- Why travel is so important
- …and more!
🗻 This podcast is part of the travel series on Mount Kilimanjaro. In 2017, I will make my way to Africa to climb the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
